Avillion Admiral Cove - Port Dickson, Malaysia

August 23, 2018

As my time in Malaysia was ending, and I was spending my last week in Kuala Lumpur, I did some research to see if it was possible to go on a short seaside break somewhere reasonably near the capital. I found out that Port Dickson area, which was just over an hour’s trip from Kuala Lumpur, had beautiful tranquil seaside and magnificent views of the marina.

I decided to spend a couple of days at the Avillion Admiral Cove, which offered panoramic views of Straight of Malacca as well as comfort with a touch of luxury. I was given a splendid ocean view room within Vista Wing, which I really liked: it was a spacious room with a large king bed (so comfy!), a workstation and a bathroom with all essentials. I also had a wardrobe, a TV and coffee making facility inside my room. The views of the sunset from my room were to die for.

The meals at the hotel were also excellent. Breakfast buffet had both hot and cold selections and fresh tropical fruit was available at all times. There were both Asian and Western options, to suit every choice, since I could spot holidaymakers from all around the world. The morning meal was so good that I also opted for a buffet lunch, which was also plentiful.

To top up a great experience, the hotel offered to arrange a romantic candlelight dinner for my partner, and me, which was right in front of the sea. Little did I know that the dinner table would be set up outside of the main restaurant (directly by the ocean) with candles and a romantic music in the background, all just for ourselves! The meal itself was also delicious and I would absolutely return just for this.

In addition to a comfortable (and pampered) stay, I got to take a ride on a paddleboat, and witnessed the most beautiful views of the bay area, as well as of colonial heritage buildings of the hotel. There were also plenty of alternative activities on offer, such as kayaking, fish feeding; there were bike rentals and you could even get a ride on a boat, which would take you further into the ocean for even better views of the shore.

Overall, I am extremely happy with this recent detour from the busy Kuala Lumpur. I really enjoyed Admiral Cove, which not only provided me with a comfortable accommodation, but also with such great memories and I wish to be returning.
